Living in Rainbow

Education

Rainbow offers a seamless education opportunity, from pre-school through to VCE. In addition, a wide variety of adult learning programs are offered through the Rainbow Learning Group.

Rainbow Co-located School

(incorporating Rainbow Primary School and Rainbow Secondary College)

Rainbow Primary School co-located to the Secondary site in June 2011.

We are committed to providing a seamless and integrated education from prep to VCE. The school has undergone a number of improvements over the past couple of years including a new open learning primary school building incorporating shared art facilities and general classrooms, a new multi purpose building incorporating a fantastic new foods area and a renovated tech wing with new welding bays and equipment providing us with the capabilities of teaching VET (Vocational Education and Training) engineering and furnishings subjects on campus. We access the lastest technology via video conferencing and on line learning to enhance the experiences of our students.

Our emphasis throughout the school is on literacy and numeracy extension and support and we have a strong commitment to the development of information and communication technologies. At senior secondary level we offer a wide range of VCE, VET and VCAL courses. Our programs are designed to cater for a diverse range of students. This includes a variety of co-curricular programmes including: Alpine School, Somers Camp (PS), Dreamchasers, Traffic Safety Education, German Exchange, MARC reading van (PS) and Woolshed. It also includes work experience, instrumental music and stage productions. There is a strong partnership between parents, students and staff with a high level of participation in School Council, canteen, work bees and fundraising.

Every student, every opportunity.
